East Lampeter Township – Lancaster County PA Sinkhole
A large sinkhole formed last Friday, August 10, in the parking lot of Tanger Outlets located in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
The hole, which is 20 feet deep, left six cars stranded. No one was injured.
One of the car owners pulled into her parking spot at about 5PM when she felt the ground shake, like there was an earthquake. People in the area helped her out of the passenger side of her car. Meanwhile, one of the cars in the sinkhole is owned by State Rep. Sheryl Delozier. She said within the hour after she parked her car, the sinkhole spread and trapped the vehicle.
According to Officer Sam Sanger from the East Lampeter Township Police Department, he was told that the ground sunk slowly until it came to a final stop.
At around 10PM, two out of six vehicles were already towed out.
