Emergency Teams Address Sinkhole Incident on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green
Emergency and city crews in Bowling Green, Kentucky, are currently addressing a sinkhole caused by drainage issues. Ronnie Ward, the Public Information Officer of the Bowling Green Police Department, has confirmed the sinkhole’s location near Gary Farms Blvd. and Campbell Lane, close to the Greenwood Mall, The Mint Gaming Hall, and Greenwood Park Church of Christ, among other establishments.
Initially, the police were managing the situation, but as of 2 p.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has assumed control. The City of Bowling Green has posted on Facebook regarding lane closures on the 1800 block of Campbell Lane due to the KYTC’s ongoing repair efforts for a sinkhole beneath the right turn lane.
While the right turn lane remains closed, the straight-through lanes have reopened. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution in the area.
