Massive Sinkhole Shuts Down Walgreens Back Entrance, Forces Store Closure for 72 Hours
King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, continues to grapple with sinkhole issues along Route 202, with two new sinkholes appearing in a local shopping center on Henderson Road. One of these sinkholes forced the closure of a Walgreens store for three days.
Public Works Director Geoff Hickman explained that the area is prone to sinkholes due to its geological characteristics. While the township can address sinkholes reactively, predicting when they will occur remains a challenge. Local residents are concerned, as sinkholes are not uncommon in Montgomery County.
The responsibility for repairing sinkholes on private property falls on the property owner. Despite these concerns, Walgreens’ corporate office has not responded to requests for comment.
