A Home in Mt. Washington, KY Razed Due to Sinkhole Threat
In Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Frank Besednjak’s home was demolished due to a sinkhole, ending his 30-year residency.
The sinkhole, discovered in 2023, rendered his recently renovated home structurally unsafe and worthless.
Despite having sinkhole insurance, he faced challenges getting the insurance claim approved, which required the home to be condemned.
This involved multiple steps, including involving the city officials and proving the danger of getting the house condemned.
The demolition relieved Besednjak, who plans to move away from areas prone to sinkholes. The event marks a significant and emotional transition in his life.
