Homeowners Misled About Their Property – Pasco County Sinkhole
Port Richey, Fl. – ABC Action News has uncovered that hundreds of unrepaired sinkhole homes were reclassified on county appraiser websites, despite the fact that no repairs were made. This leaves the homeowners in complete dark.
Miranda Marcum, who recently moved to her home in Port Richey along with her wife and three daughters, says they were misled into buying this house. She was not told about the sinkhole-related history of the house by the realtor. It is listed as “None Reported” regarding sinkhole activity on Pasco County Appraiser website. But a report from 2012 was later found, that indicates sinkhole activity on the property. The report also recommended thousands of dollars in repairs that were never made. Miranda says she would not have bought the home if she had seen this report.
